NEW “CLIMATE CHANGE” BUREAUCRACY IS PROOF OBAMA IS NOT SERIOUS ABOUT THE NATION’S DEFICIT
SPRINGDALE, AR — Republican U.S. Senate candidate Jim Holt said today that President Obama’s request for a new federal government bureaucracy focusing on “Climate Change” is proof the president is not serious about cutting the deficit.
“President Obama’s decision to create this new and cumbersome bureaucracy is proof that his talk about deficits is just more empty rhetoric,” Holt said. “President Obama needs to stop creating new government agencies and programs and start rolling back the size of government.”
“Now he wants to create a new government agency with six regional offices and a centralized bureaucracy. We don’t know how much this is going to cost. The president’s priority needs to be economic climate change, not junk science alarmism, government health care or social engineering schemes,” Holt said.
Holt was also critical of congressional Republicans’ request to sit down with President Obama to discuss “bipartisan solutions” to health care. “We don’t need health care ‘reform.’ What we need are tax cuts and regulatory relief so we can get the private sector moving again. Unfortunately, this administration is bent on punishing our job producers with more taxes, more regulations and more welfare programs that reward dependency. Republicans need to stop ‘working with’ this president and spend the next three years doing everything possible to stop him from destroying our nation,” Holt said.
Holt also noted that, in addition to the “Climate Change” agency, the president also proposes a new government agency dealing with child obesity.
“Neither of these new government agencies will do anything but cripple businesses with more regulations and billions of dollars in new taxes. It is exactly the wrong approach for our nation to follow, and if I were in the Senate today I would lead a filibuster against both these new bureaucracies.”
