<p>SPRINGDALE, AR — As we come into the final hours of the Arkansas primary, an opponent of Jim Holt has attacked and tried to defame Holt&#8217;s character through a robocall accusing Holt of &#8220;distorting&#8221; his opponent&#8217;s record.</p>
<p>&#8220;First of all, our campaign didn&#8217;t even compile the voting records The Women&#8217;s Action Group did the research and published them.  I believe all the members are retired school teachers.&#8221; Said Holt.  &#8220;We asked them if we could reproduce them and hand them out and they said, yes. We are grateful for their willingness to inform the public.  Thomas Jefferson said that whenever the people are well informed they can be trusted with their own government.&#8221; Elaborated Holt.</p>
<p>&#8220;I think everyone would agree that we&#8217;re tired of negative campaigning. It&#8217;s sad really.&#8221;  Holt said.  &#8220;I know the person that did the robocall is a friend of Gilbert&#8217;s but I also think the people of Arkansas would be disheartened to know he is a registered lobbyist – this is a documented fact.&#8221;  (Source: <a href="http://www.sos.arkansas.gov/filing_search/index.php/filing/save_pdf/10390">http://www.sos.arkansas.gov/filing_search/index.php/filing/save_pdf/10390</a>) &#8220;This proves what everyone in-the-know, already knows:  Gilbert is another establishment candidate that has raised over a million dollars with the help from lobbyists.  We haven&#8217;t received one penny of lobbyist or D.C. money.  I believe this puts our campaign in the best position for what people are really looking for: someone who doesn&#8217;t cater to the special interests and &#8216;insider&#8217; politics.  People are tired of establishment candidates running campaigns the same ol&#8217; way. They&#8217;re tired of politics as usual. It&#8217;s time to stick to the truth and documented facts,&#8221; said Holt. &#8220;I am the U.S. Senate Candidate that has the most anti-establishment, anti-tax, anti growth in government record there is – period! And I have the record to prove it.  I can&#8217;t take the credit though.  That goes to my upbringing, my accountability partners and God&#8217;s grace.  I thank the Lord for that.  I <strong>want</strong> people to look at my record.  How many people do you know want you to &#8216;look under the hood?&#8217;  I do.&#8221;</p>
<p>Dwayne Andregg, Holt campaign manager said, &#8220;We have nothing to hide and nothing to be ashamed of. We invite Arkansas voters to uncover the truth by reviewing Jim&#8217;s record and comparing it with his opponent&#8217;s by visiting <a href="http://www.jimholt2010.com/record">www.jimholt2010.com/record</a>.  These are documented facts&#8221;.</p>
<p>&#8220;We will not slander or use negative campaign tactics or adjectives that would put a political &#8217;spin&#8217; on the issues.  We know people don&#8217;t want politics as usual.  They want politics Unusual.  They want politics done with honesty and documentation to empower, &#8216;We the People.&#8217;  That&#8217;s why we have so many people fired up and helping in our campaign.&#8221;  Holt said.</p>
<p>Andregg said &#8220;The only &#8216;Documented Facts&#8217; contained in the call are the statements that Holt lost to both Lincoln in &#8216;04, and Halter and &#8216;06. But even this is not giving all the facts. Lincoln was at 70% in approval rating and she spent 6.7 million to Jim&#8217;s 148,000.  Now her approval is at approximately 27%. The seat was not a &#8216;targeted race in &#8216;04, it is now.  Whoever the nominee is, they will be funded.  In &#8216;06, there was a wave of negatives from Bush; this election President Obama has extremely high negatives.  Jim Holt is also the best to contrast the establishment.  Boozman or Baker have insider ties that the democrats will use against us in the fall – you can bet on it.  Jim Holt doesn&#8217;t.&#8221;</p>

<h1 style="text-align: center;">New Daily KOS Poll &#8211; U.S. Senate Race Still Headed for HOLT/Boozman Run-Off</h1>
<p>With just six days  before the Arkansas primary elections, the new May 13 Daily KOS poll <strong>still</strong> indicates that the eight man race for the Republican nomination may well be coming down to a two-man race — John Boozman and Jim Holt.</p>
<p>The Daily KOS poll released yesterday, May 13, still shows no candidate winning the majority necessary to avoid a run-off election.  Not only is Jim Holt 2nd in the poll but also has moved up two percentage points since the last poll and moved up from six percentage points to seven percentage points above Senator Gilbert Baker. And the front runner, Congress John Boozman, polled two percentage points lower than in the last Mason Dixon poll conducted May 6. (See links to the poll at end of this Press Release)</p>
<p>This Daily KOS poll includes much more information than the Mason Dixon poll did. It ranks all the candidates favorable and unfavorable ratings by all demographic groups. In today&#8217;s poll Jim Holt&#8217;s favorable rating is very close to that of Congressman Boozman&#8217;s.  Among likely Republican primary voters Boozman&#8217;s favorable rating is 72% and his unfavorable rating is 15%.  Jim Holt&#8217;s favorable rating is 67% and unfavorable 11%.</p>
<p>Boozman&#8217;s unfavorable rating is actually 4 percentage points higher than Holt&#8217;s among likely Republican primary voters.  That is quite astounding considering all the positive media coverage Boozman has received and the hundreds of TV ads he has run, and the lack of coverage and/or negative coverage of Jim Holt&#8217;s race and with no TV ads.  And Holt is on the way up according to the poll and has the momentum on the campaign trail.   Holt has run a few radio ads this week and will be running more in the next few days.</p>
<p>Not only is Holt  seven percentage points above Senator Baker&#8217;s in this poll, but his favorable ratings are also six percentage points better than Baker&#8217;s among likely Republican primary voters.  And Baker&#8217;s unfavorable ratings are six percentage points higher than Holt&#8217;s. Again, this is astounding considering Baker has raised a million dollars and has been running TV ads for some time now.</p>
<p>&#8220;The grass roots are truly amazing,&#8221; Jim Holt said, &#8220;We are so very grateful for all the work our supporters have done and continue to do.  And if elected, we will work for them and their interests just as they are working for us in this campaign.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;We&#8217;re pleased that we are second in the poll, Holt continued.  &#8220;We realize it is an uphill battle, but our supporters are fired up!  We hope and pray the supporters of the other six candidates will rally behind us when we make the run-off. Once people see our voting record of less government control and spending, we&#8217;ll win by a landslide! It&#8217;s not even close.&#8221;</p>
<p>Rasmussen reports that seventy-four percent (74%) of Republican voters say their party’s representatives in Congress have lost touch with GOP voters nationwide over the past several years. Congressman Boozman would fit in that category since he has been in Congress for the past nine years now.</p>
<p>While trailing Boozman, Holt polled seven points ahead of Gilbert Baker who has raised more money than all six of the other candidates combined (excluding Boozman). Holt leads the rest of the field by double-digits. If the poll results hold true, Boozman and Holt could very well meet in a run-off election on June 8.</p>
<p>&#8220;If we can get in the run-off, we will have these next five days and three more weeks to get a comparison of Boozman&#8217;s and my voting record out across the state”, Holt said.</p>
<p>Boozman voted for the deficit-exploding TARP bailout legislation and has become a Beltway fixture when it comes to voting to raise the federal debt ceiling. He also has been a strong proponent of the &#8220;No Child Left Behind&#8221; legislation that has undermined state and local control of school districts.</p>
<p>&#8220;Blanche Lincoln is the incumbent Democrat running for the U.S. Senate seat in Arkansas,&#8221; Holt said. &#8220;But John Boozman is as much an incumbent as Blanche Lincoln. His voting record should be examined just as closely as Lincoln&#8217;s.&#8221;</p>
<p>Holt noted his gratitude for Boozman&#8217;s service as the lone Republican representing Arkansas in those nine years. He added that Boozman has been a &#8220;shining light&#8221; on social issues. But, he said, people are just now discovering Boozman&#8217;s record on fiscal issues and on increasing government control.</p>
<p>&#8220;I hate to be the one to point it out,&#8221; Holt said, &#8220;but the Democrat opponent in the Senate race will point out again and again that our national debt rose from $5.7 trillion to $10.5 trillion from 2001 to 2008 &#8212; when the Republican administration was in power. And John Boozman voted with the party 97% of the time. He will be painted as part of the problem – and not the solution.&#8221;</p>
<p>On the other hand, Jim Holt has a 100% conservative voting record on both social and fiscal issues.</p>
<p>&#8220;Unlike some of the other candidates, I consistently vote the actual Republican platform of smaller government and fewer taxes,&#8221; Holt says. &#8220;My principle for voting has always been simple: If it empowers the government, I vote against it. If it empowers the individuals and encourages personal responsibility, I vote for it.&#8221;</p>
<p>The evidence is in his voting record. Except for a minor beer tax, (which when brought back in two more sessions, Holt voted against it and tried to kill it) Holt voted against the increase in sales tax in Arkansas and every other tax when he was a state legislator for six years. He even voted against his own legislative pay raise &#8212; every time.</p>
<p>Many people have noted that Boozman may be the weakest GOP candidate against Blanche Lincoln, the likely Democrat winner of the primary.</p>
<p>Boozman is the only candidate of the eight who can&#8217;t use the $700 billion bailout against Lincoln (or have it used against him if Halter wins the Democratic primary).</p>
<p>Boozman can&#8217;t use the Washington insider aspect against Lincoln, but it can be used against him if Halter wins.</p>
<p>Boozman has been given very low scores by the Club for Growth because of his multiple earmarks, and the media has already hammered Boozman on the fact that he took more trips around the world at taxpayers&#8217; expense than any Democrat in the state.</p>
<p>Boozman is financed by the corporate world much like Lincoln.</p>
<p>But Jim Holt&#8217;s campaign is grassroots all the way. Most of his work is done by volunteers.  Jim Holt said, &#8220;I owe nothing to the corporate world, the lobbyists, or the establishment; I will be able to truly represent the people and their interests in Washington as I did in the Arkansas legislature.  I think that is what people have been looking for and they will become more aware of it when the voting records become more public.</p>
<p>If we can get our voting record out to the people &#8212; and I think we can &#8212; we&#8217;ll win this race for the U.S. Senate&#8230; in a landslide.&#8221;</p>

<h1 style="text-align: center;">Congressman John Boozman Touts Less Government Spending – Astounding!</h1>
<p>Congressman John Boozman has stated in his speeches that he has not raised any taxes. That is an astounding statement since he voted for the $700 billion TARP bailout bill, the Prescription Drug Plan with a ten-year cost of $350 billion, for the first $150 billion dollar stimulus bill in 2008, and voted for increased budgets and spending bills by the billions time after time during his nine years in office.</p>
<p>Boozman also voted to increase spending for foreign aid; education, welfare, food stamps, United Nations, Aid to Mexican military, and many others, billions at a time. Yet Boozman says he has not raised taxes.</p>
<p>&#8220;Then where is the money coming from, John, &#8220;if you are not raising taxes? Holt asks.</p>
<p>&#8220;We don&#8217;t like negative campaigning at all, but we don&#8217;t feel it&#8217;s negative campaigning if we talk about the voting records of current legislators. We are running against Blanche Lincoln because of her voting record in the US Senate. Most Politicians are likeable (except Bill Halter). Blanche Lincoln and John Boozman are two of the nicest people you would meet, but we are running against them because they have both spent our country into oblivion and it is TIME TO STOP!&#8221;</p>
<p>In his latest email to voters Boozman&#8217;s campaign manager touts &#8220;John’s message of <span style="text-decoration: underline;">lower taxes, less government spending, and his continued fight against the President’s big government polices</span>.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;Boozman may be able to say technically that he did not raise any taxes since he probably did not actually vote for increased taxes, and can possibly say that he has a <span style="text-decoration: underline;">message of</span> (talks about) less government spending,&#8221; Holt said. &#8220;But if the voters don&#8217;t begin to look behind what the definition of &#8220;is&#8221; is they are going to be sending the same big spenders back to Washington.&#8221;</p>
<p>Washington and Arkansas politicians have cooked up a new scheme whereby they can spend like drunken sailors but can still say they did not vote for increased taxes. In Washington they just spend us into economic disaster by increasing the national debt, laying the burden on the backs of our children, and decreasing the value of the dollar. Then they can come back home and individually say they did not vote for new taxes. That way they keep their voters happy and onboard. &#8220;Adding to our national debt and laying the burden on the backs of our children is just as immoral as raising our taxes,&#8221; Holt said. &#8220;And decreasing the value of the dollar has the same effect as increasing taxes.&#8221;</p>
<p>In Arkansas some legislators actually vote for the bills that increase spending on various things and then vote against the bill that appropriates the funds for it and contend that they have not voted for new taxes.</p>
<p>&#8220;If the voters across the state actually knew the amount of spending Boozman and Baker voted for,&#8221; Holt said, &#8220;we would win in a landslide.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;I think we have done a better job,&#8221; Holt continued, &#8220;of bringing those voting records to the attention of the people and educating them about the deceptive tactics used by candidates than any other campaign has done in the past. We think that will make a difference not only in this race but also in political races to come.&#8221;</p>

		<title>Baker Pledged No Taxes, But Voted for $3 billion in Spending</title>

<h1 style="text-align: center;">Baker Signed No Tax Pledge in 2000 &#8211; But Voted for At Least $3 billion in Spending. Who is the True Conservative, Holt or Baker?</h1>
<p>Senator Gilbert Baker voted for a minimum of $3 billion in spending in two legislative sessions in the State Senate and voted for the Arkansas sales tax increase &#8211; now he is using deceptive language to tout his accomplishments as a &#8220;fiscal conservative&#8221; and make it appear as if he never voted for any taxes.<sup>1</sup></p>
<p>Baker included the following information in his latest flyer.</p>
<p>&#8220;FISCAL CONSERVATIVE – As Co-Chairman of Arkansas&#8217;s Joint Budget Committee, Baker worked to balance Arkansas&#8217; budget without deficit spending <span style="text-decoration: underline;">or tax increases</span>. Baker supports a FEDERAL BALANCED BUDGET, opposes pork-barrel spending, and <span style="text-decoration: underline;">has pledged to vote against all tax increases</span>.&#8221; (underlining added)</p>
<p>&#8220;Of course, Arkansas, unlike the nation and some other states, is required by law to have a balanced budget and no deficit spending &#8212; every legislator knows that. But Baker is making it appear that he balanced the budget without deficits.&#8221; Holt said.</p>
<p>&#8220;Baker now says that he pledges to vote against all tax increases, but he doesn&#8217;t say that he made a NO TAX Pledge when he went to the Arkansas Senate in 2000 as well &#8212; and then voted for more than $3 billion in spending within two legislative sessions in 2003 through 2005,&#8221; Holt continued.<sup>2</sup></p>
<p>In a recent debate Jim Holt confronted Baker with his No Tax Pledge in 2000 and on the $3 billion for which he voted in the Senate. Baker did not deny the No Tax Pledge in 2001 or the $3 billion in spending &#8212; he only implied he had kept the No Tax Pledge for the first two years in office.</p>
<p>Baker was also in office during the same ten years that Americans for Prosperity&#8217;s press released pointed out that Arkansas has the 5th fastest growing government in the nation from 2000 to 2010.</p>
<p>&#8220;Since February 2000, Arkansas state government has added 14,300 jobs. That adds up to an additional cost to tax payers of approximately $685 million per year,&#8221; this national organization reported.</p>
<p>&#8220;I am not aware of any significant votes that Baker made to prevent the growth of government and spending,&#8221; Holt said, &#8220;but am aware of many votes he made that did expand government and increase spending.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;Baker&#8217;s vote for consolidation is another area,&#8221; Jim Holt said, &#8220;that Baker has voted for bigger government and spending.&#8221; Baker voted for every consolidation bill that came through the senate, even for isolated districts.</p>
<p>Consolidation was sold as a way to cut educational expenses by cutting the number of superintendents and eliminating teachers who had extremely small classes in the smaller schools. But now we learn from Tim Leathers, State Revenue commissioner, &#8220;There has been an <span style="text-decoration: underline;">increase</span> in public school employees, who do not show up in the total number of people employed by the state. Thanks in part to the <span style="text-decoration: underline;">state spending heavily on public schools, payrolls &#8211; teachers, district staff and co-op employees &#8211; increased from 58,227 jobs in 2000 to 70,051 in 2009, up about 20 percent</span>.&#8221;<sup>3</sup></p>
<p>In reality then, Baker helped cut out about 60 superintendents or so but added almost <strong>12,000</strong> other new education employees in the public schools when Baker voted for consolidation, increasing spending and government control.</p>
<p>Baker also voted for the Omnibus that implemented No Child Left Behind (NCLB) in Arkansas that took over the curriculum and the local control in Arkansas schools. The Omnibus bill also set forth standards that could easily close or consolidate more schools if schools did not meet the government standards. As noted in the increases of educational employees, it takes a massive bureaucracy to control and oversee our schools.</p>
<p>&#8220;Besides the spending aspect, taking control away from the local community and putting children on the bus for three hours or more a day is just not reasonable, right or even moral.&#8221; Holt said.</p>
<p>So who is the fiscal conservative, Senator Gilbert Baker or Jim Holt? Jim Holt voted against every tax and spending increase when he was in the Arkansas legislature from 2000 to 2006 except a minor beer tax – and voted against every bill that expanded government.</p>

<h1 style="text-align: center;">U.S. Senate Race Headed for HOLT/Boozman Run-Off</h1>
<p>SPRINGDALE, Arkansas — With just over a week left before the Arkansas primary elections, the eight man race for the Republican nomination for the U.S. Senate may well be coming down to a two-man race — John Boozman and Jim Holt.</p>
<p>The Stephens Media poll, released last night, shows no candidate winning the majority necessary to avoid a run-off election.</p>
<p>&#8220;We&#8217;re pleased that we are second in the poll.  We realize it is an uphill battle, but our supporters are fired up!  We hope and pray the supporters of the other six candidates will rally behind us when we make the run-off. Once people see our voting record of less government control and spending, we&#8217;ll win by a landslide! It&#8217;s not even close&#8221;</p>
<p>Rasmussen reports that seventy-four percent (74%) of Republican voters say their party’s representatives in Congress have lost touch with GOP voters nationwide over the past several years. Congressman Boozman would fit in that category since he has been in Congress for the past nine years now.</p>
<p>While trailing Boozman, Holt polled six percentage points ahead of Gilbert Baker who has raised more money than all six of the other candidates combined (excluding Boozman). Holt leads the rest of the field by double-digits. If the poll results hold true, Boozman and Holt could very well meet in a run-off election on June 8.</p>
<p>&#8220;If we can get in the run-off, we will have these next twelve days and three more weeks to get a comparison of Boozman&#8217;s and my voting record out across the state”, Holt said.</p>
<p>Boozman voted for the deficit-exploding TARP bailout legislation and has become a Beltway fixture when it comes to voting to raise the federal debt ceiling. He also has been a strong proponent of the &#8220;No Child Left Behind&#8221; legislation that has undermined state and local control of school districts.</p>
<p>&#8220;Blanche Lincoln is the incumbent Democrat running for the U.S. Senate seat in Arkansas,&#8221; Holt said. &#8220;But John Boozman is as much an incumbent as Blanche Lincoln. His voting record should be examined just as closely as Lincoln&#8217;s.&#8221;</p>
<p>Holt noted his gratitude for Boozman&#8217;s service as the lone Republican representing Arkansas in those nine years. He added that Boozman has been a &#8220;shining light&#8221; on social issues. But, he said, people are just now discovering Boozman&#8217;s record on fiscal issues and on increasing government control.</p>
<p>&#8220;I hate to be the one to point it out,&#8221; Holt said, &#8220;but the Democrat opponent in the Senate race will point out again and again that our national debt rose from $5.7 trillion to $9.2 trillion from 2001 to 2008 &#8212; when the Republican administration was in power. And John Boozman voted with the party 97% of the time. He will be painted as part of the problem – and not the solution.&#8221;</p>
<p>On the other hand, Jim Holt has a 100% conservative voting record on both social and fiscal issues.</p>
<p>&#8220;Unlike some of the other candidates, I consistently vote the actual Republican platform of smaller government and fewer taxes,&#8221; Holt says. &#8220;My principle for voting has always been simple: If it empowers the government, I vote against it. If it empowers the individuals and encourages personal responsibility, I vote for it.&#8221;</p>
<p>The evidence is in his voting record. Except for a minor beer tax, (which when brought back in two more sessions, Holt voted against it and tried to kill it) Holt voted against the increase in sales tax in Arkansas and every other tax when he was a state legislator for six years. He even voted against his own legislative pay raise &#8212; every time.</p>
<p>Many people have noted that Boozman may be the weakest GOP candidate against Blanche Lincoln, the likely Democrat winner of the primary.</p>
<p>Boozman is the only candidate of the eight who can&#8217;t use the $700 billion bailout against Lincoln (or have it used against him if Halter wins the Democratic primary)</p>
<p>Boozman can&#8217;t use the Washington insider aspect against Lincoln, but it can be used against him if Halter wins.</p>
<p>Boozman has been given very low scores by the Club for Growth because of his multiple earmarks, and the media has already hammered Boozman on the fact that he took more trips around the world at taxpayers&#8217; expense than any Democrat in the state.</p>
<p>Boozman is financed by the corporate world much like Lincoln.</p>
<p>But Jim Holt&#8217;s campaign is grassroots all the way. Most of his work is done by volunteers.  Jim Holt said, &#8220;I owe nothing to the corporate world, the lobbyists, or the establishment; I will be able to truly represent the people and their interests in Washington as I did in the Arkansas legislature.  I think that is what people have been looking for and they will become more aware of it when the voting records become more public.</p>
<p>If we can get our voting record out to the people &#8212; and I think we can &#8212; we&#8217;ll win this race for the U.S. Senate&#8230; in a landslide.&#8221;</p>

<p>SPRINGDALE, Arkansas — U.S. Senate Republican frontrunner Jim Holt is responding to opposition about an alleged violation of a law regarding his campaign&#8217;s latest symbol of conservative expression. Holt met with press on Monday at the Arkansas State Capitol in Little Rock to unveil what he has dubbed as, &#8220;America&#8217;s Ambulance.&#8221;</p>
<p>Holt introduced the 2004 Ford F450 former emergency ambulance that several Holt supporters and volunteers have modified to read &#8220;ObamaCare Repeal Unit&#8221; in bold print on the face along with phrases like &#8220;Stop The Barackracy&#8221; and &#8220;The Cure for Obama&#8217;s Hope &amp; Change.&#8221; In addition, America&#8217;s Ambulance touts a caricature of President Obama with a Soviet hammer &amp; sickle insignia affixed to his lapel while the other side displays a cartoon sketch of Sen. Lincoln posing alongside Sen. Harry Reid &amp; Rep. Nancy Pelosi next to the words &#8220;Revive America: Vote Jim Holt for U.S. Senate.&#8221;</p>
<p>The controversy arose from a Liberal Democratic group online article that alleged that Holt may be in violation of an Arkansas statute regarding the use of flashing lights. Holt commented today, &#8220;The clash with opposition on this ambulance is not the use of flashing lights, it is the fact that we are bringing to light the corrupt and unconstitutional behaviors of Washington, and they are trying to silence us. Holt continued, &#8220;They have usurped the will of the people to enact radical legislation like National Healthcare and Government Bailouts.&#8221;</p>
<p>Holt stated that campaign volunteers inquired of local law enforcement regarding the use of lights previously and were informed that they were legal when not used on roadways or to impersonate emergency officials. Holt also mentioned that the vehicle lights have clear lenses and in no way can they be construed to appear like an official emergency vehicle. Holt stated, &#8220;I have the utmost respect for the men and women that serve across the Nation everyday in emergency medical services and law enforcement. Our goal with America&#8217;s Ambulance is correlating the emergency situation of our Nation &#8211; we are in a crisis and we need to elect true conservative leaders that will respond to the scene in Washington.&#8221;</p>
<p>Holt stated that he is having an attorney look into the statute to see whether the lighting may be a concern, and until then the lights will remain on the vehicle, and as always, not in use while driving.</p>
<p>&#8220;We know what their opposition is really about. It&#8217;s sad. The Liberals a.k.a. as Socialists, are pretending to be worried about a code when they are the ones who need to be put into question and arrested for putting our Constitution on life support!&#8221; Holt said. &#8220;As stated previously, but was not reported, &#8220;we haven&#8217;t transgressed anyone&#8217;s rights or liberties.</p>
<p>On December 16, 1773, our Founding Fathers took tea that wasn&#8217;t theirs and threw it overboard in the Boston Tea Party, and we dub them heroes. The liberals are trying to make it look as if we&#8217;re criminals when they are the traitors to our Country and our freedoms.&#8221; Holt passionately stated, &#8220;They should be ashamed, and the people of this state and Nation must reclaim our liberties and refound our Country once again.&#8221;</p>
<p>Holt was a former National Security Agency Watch Officer under Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton and served as a Russian Linguist during the fall of the Soviet Union. Holt stated that working in the NSA provided him with a clear view of the mistakes that Socialist leaders imposed on the people of Russia. He stated, &#8220;The current administration is cramming their liberal agenda down the throats of the people in much the same way &#8211; with no thought for the American public.&#8221; Holt also said, When you attack the leader of the most Socialist minded progressive agenda our nation has ever seen, it is bound to cause quite a stir.&#8221;</p>
<p>Holt continues, &#8220;We are speaking out and representing Americans who have not had a voice in Washington that represents them. With recent attacks on freedom and liberty, citizens need a leader &#8211; someone who will fight to defend their Constitutional rights.&#8221; Supporters have said they are rallying behind Holt in the race to the U.S. Senate, because of his impeccable record and integrity. <p>The 2004 Ford F450 ambulance belongs to car dealership Champion Motorcars owned by Josh Duggar, of TLC&#8217;s 19 Kids &amp; Counting. Duggar, a longtime Holt friend and supporter, commented that he first had the idea of the &#8220;political ambulance&#8221; following the passage of the National Healthcare Reform Bill. &#8220;We saw the need for a vivid representation of our feelings, that linked the damaging effects of this legislation to the welfare of the nation.&#8221; Duggar continued, &#8220;Voters must see how vital it is that we elect a proven conservative to fight for us in Washington.&#8221; After acquiring the vehicle from a local emergency transport service, campaign volunteers modified it to become an audacious expression of conservative discourse. Holt stated, &#8220;I am confident that Americans will embrace this visual representation as they have already connected with the message so distinctly portrayed through it.&#8221;</p>
<p>Senator Holt also spoke about the heightened priorities of his campaign and reiterated the fact that so many are outraged by the traumatic ramifications set forth in &#8220;ObamaCare&#8221; and the multi-trillion dollar Government Bailouts. Holt stated, &#8220;The recent attacks against our liberty represent the Socialist ideology that clouds the minds of Washington politicians.&#8221; Holt stated that he would vote for the immediate repeal of ObamaCare and its counterparts. &#8220;This is such a critical time in our nation,&#8221; Holt continued, &#8220;now more than ever we need to hold our Washington leaders accountable for the extreme decisions they have made in the wrong direction for our country. <p>Holt, a nine-year military veteran and former State Representative &amp; State Senator from Northwest Arkansas, is best known for standing up for what he believes in. Senator Holt was the Republican nominee for the U.S. Senate in 2004, where he was grossly outspent (44.5 to 1) and polling way behind, but the election resulted in a near upset for the then highly favored one term incumbent Sen. Lincoln. After that near victory Holt was compelled to make yet another bold stand, and in 2006 entered the race for Lieutenant Governor against challenger Bill Halter. Outspent 17. 5 to 1 Holt took away 43% of the vote and engaged one of the largest grassroots networks in state history. Holt is highly acclaimed for his staunch conservative stance, casting critical votes like cutting government spending or fighting against special benefits to illegal aliens – issues that matter most to all Americans. <h1 style="text-align: center;">HEALTH CARE BILL CONTAINS &#8220;EGREGIOUS VIOLATIONS OF THE CONSTITUTION&#8221;</h1>
<p>SPRINGDALE, Arkansas — Republican U.S. Senate candidate Jim Holt issued the following statement today in regards to  President Obama&#8217;s signing of the Health Care Bill</p>
<p>The passage of the Health Care Bill reminds me of this passage from the Declaration of Independence:</p>
<p>&#8220;Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. &#8221; — <em>Declaration of Independence JULY 4, 1776</em></p>
<p>Among 100 other egregious violations of our individual rights, scholars who have studied the bill conclude that:</p>
<ul>
<li>The bill allows for taxpayer funding of abortion</li>
<li>Calls for federal regulations that would expand access to abortion</li>
<li> Provides federal subsidies to help people purchase private insurance that covers abortion</li>
<li> Democrats voting for this bill, &#8220;changed 30 years of policy protecting Americans of pro-life convictions from being forced to pay for something that violates their personal and, in my many cases, religious convictions.&#8221;</li>
<li>IRS agents will verify if you have &#8220;acceptable&#8221; health care coverage</li>
<li>IRS has the authority to fine you up to $2,250 or 2 percent of your income (whichever is greater) for failure to prove that you have purchased &#8220;minimum essential coverage&#8221;</li>
<li> IRS may need to hire as many as 16,500 additional auditors, agents and other employees to investigate and collect billions in new taxes from Americans</li>
</ul>

<p>To do more than just promise to repeal the legislation.   It is time for each of us to search our souls to determine to what extent we will sacrifice and what steps we are willing to take to &#8220;alter&#8221; or &#8220;abolish&#8221; these tyrannical  infringements on our freedom.</p>

<p>In 2006 I proposed a plan to limit taxes by not allowing tax increases without the vote of the people, a measure enacted in a few states.  Mike Masterson described my plan this way in a newspaper article:    &#8220;He  [Jim Holt] would campaign to limit the tax burden on Arkansans and curb the growth of state government… How novel that Holt, advocates limiting taxes and runaway growth in government… he said his proposal would be reminiscent of limits placed on governments in Maine and Colorado. Of those two states, he told reporters, he leans toward the law passed in Maine that prevents taxation from exceeding the rate of annual population growth plus inflation measured under the Consumer Price Index.</p>
<p>According to Americans for Prosperity, this proposal on limiting taxes, if enacted, would have saved Arkansas $5.9 billion dollars over a five year period.   We must impose such standards at the state and national level and find other creative ways to make deeper cuts in the amount of money the government is able to spend.</p>
<p>Many organizations and citizens are working on lawsuits, on ballot initiatives, and defeating those in office who have passed this unconstitutional bill.   I will fully support these measures and other measures to limit government power and restore our freedom.  If all else fails, I will support civil disobedience in order to save our freedom.</p>
<p>One of those measures in Arkansas to alter this health care bill is a ballot initiative, &#8220;Freedom of Choice for Health Care,&#8221; being sponsored by the grassroots organization, Secure Arkansas.  This  initiated act has been resubmitted to Arkansas Attorney General for language review and approval.   The amendment prevents laws or rules that compel a person or employer to participate in a health care system, one of the most egregious aspects of the health bill.   I laud this effort and call on Attorney General Dustin McDaniel to move through his part of the process as speedily as possible and allow this ballot initiative to move forward.  I also support Secure Arkansas&#8217;s ballot initiative to curb benefits for illegal aliens, and actually wrote a bill (that was defeated)  to do that in 2005.</p>
<p>If we citizens will sacrifice deeply enough now in time, effort, and money, then the painful  sacrifice of civil disobedience should never be necessary.</p>

<p>&#8220;With a single vote she has divided our Nation right down the middle and we are poised below an avalanche that can only be stopped if we act now.&#8221; Holt Said &#8220;Lincoln&#8217;s comments that the House Package &#8216;includes matter unrelated to health care&#8217; is imbecilic. The package that the Senate originally sent back to the house was full of this &#8216;unrelated matter.&#8217; The Federal Government is bound by article one section nine of the Constitution to not favor one state above another.&#8221;</p>
<p>Holt continued &#8220;Blanche Lincoln lit the match that burned the Constitution. Her crucial 60th vote for cloture last December sent a clear and undeniable message to the American people that she will continue to adhere to Washington&#8217;s liberal agenda despite what the voters in Arkansas want, or what the supreme law of the land says.&#8221;</p>
<p>It&#8217;s not only time for a change in Washington, it&#8217;s time to send Washington a message. The clearest message Arkansas can send Washington is in sending Jim Holt to the US Senate.</p>

<p>SPRINGDALE, Arkansas — Republican U.S. Senate candidate Jim Holt said today that government spending on &#8220;stimulus&#8221; programs will be the &#8220;line in the sand&#8221; between him and Senator Lincoln this fall.</p>
<p>Holt was referring to Democratic Party of Arkansas (DPA) attacks on Holt and others for opposing President Barack Obama’s &#8220;stimulus&#8221; spending scheme.</p>
<p>&#8220;If Blanche Lincoln and the DPA want to attack me for opposing the use of federal taxes to pay for summer reading classes in Fayetteville, computerizing hospital records in Harrison and buying two police cars in Walnut Ridge, I won’t object,&#8221; Holt said, &#8220;because it just demonstrates yet another difference in our attitudes toward the constitution and its limitations on federal government spending.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;There are many, many differences between Senator Lincoln on myself on the issues, and this is just one of them,&#8221; Holt said. &#8220;She believes the federal government should be picking the winners and losers in our society, and I don’t. We can pay for our own summer reading programs and new police cars without federal help and the strings that come with it. And why can’t the North Arkansas Regional Medical Center pay for their own data processing? How is that the role of the federal government?&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;If Senator Lincoln and the DPA think my opposition to Barack Obama’s socialist agenda is going to help the most unpopular Senator in Arkansas’ history win re-election, then I’ve only just begun helping,&#8221; Holt said. &#8220;Outside of national defense and building interstate roads, there’s not much federal spending I support.&#8221;</p>
<p>Holt, who served in the Arkansas House and state Senate before topping the 2006 GOP ticket as the Lieutenant Governor nominee &#8212; running 10,000 votes ahead of Gubernatorial candidate Asa Hutchinson &#8212; was the GOP nominee against Lincoln in 2004. Given no chance to win, Holt raised less than $150,000 for that battle yet won 44% of the vote, the third highest vote share for any GOP challenger in the nation in that pro-incumbent year.</p>
<p>&#8220;The time has come to begin a wholesale dismantling of the federal government in favor of turning over as many essential functions to state and local governments as possible,&#8221; Holt said. &#8220;It’s not enough to say you are against Obama’s excesses &#8212; and there are many &#8212; because even the status quo is unacceptable. President Obama’s excesses have convinced the nation that a bigger and more intrusive federal government is not the way to go and that it’s time to take our nation back.&#8221; Holt added.<br />
